Sypnosis:
Han-Na (Kim Ah-Joong) is a very big girl with an equally big heart and beautiful voice. She dreams on becoming a pop-singer, but due to her appearance she only works as the voice of a famous pop singer, Ami. Ami looks how an idol should look like but she can't carry a tune.
Han-Na is contented with what she have her only problem is her secret love love to Ami’s music producer, Sang-Jun (Joo Jin-Mo). But an unfortunate incident changed her life. One day, Han-Na is invited to Sang-Jun’s birthday party, she received a red dress from him and was instructed to wear it although it was revealing and quite extravagant for her very large figure. She eventually went to the birthday party wearing the red dress and was mortified to see the petite Ami wearing the same dress. This and other events in the birthday party, Han-Na absorbs more emotional trauma and she simply disappears.
A year later, after Han-Na’s extreme makeover aka major plastic surgery, she returns with a new identity as Jenny. She has a near perfect body and face, far from the old Han-Na so nobody recognizes her, even her best friend.
The producer Sang-Jun is searching for a replacement singer for Ami, they found sexy and pretty Jenny with the amazing voice of Han-na. Sang-Jun immediately liked her and Han-Na's dream came true.
Unfortunately, Ami is now jealous of Jenny and feels threatened by her sudden success. She researches into Jenny’s background and comes up with the truth about her true identity. Will this ruin Jenny’s career?
My take on the movie 200 Pounds Beauty
3/5 worth of DVD. An entertaining film but nothing spectacular. It has a predictable plot but well executed scenes.
